The Madness of the Morning Mist

Am I crazy, or just enthusiastic? When I awoke this morning, a mist lay over the land. I always find the mist intriguing as everything is shrouded and outlines are blurred. You can never tell how long the mist may last and so I grabbed my camera and took off for some shots.

Before breakfast. Before a cuppa. Before feeding the cats and the dog – only the horse was fed and the fire lit. At least I would come back to a warm room. Frank who usually accompanies me on these walks stayed at home – perhaps he was still hoping breakfast would magically appear. So it was just Fred and I walking through wet grass, climbing up slippery rocks and dodging prickle bushes as I searched out suitable subjects for my photo shots. Not even the usual number of birds were sitting atop the pipeline; a lone pigeon was all there was to be seen.

Time will tell as to whether or not the effort was productive. I have to wait until the film is finished and processed before that is known. But I do know that I am glad I didn’t waste this opportunity. Who knows what may come out of it…..
