I've made a sale! WHOOOOOP! :-D

So I’ve been ‘hanging around’ redbubble the past two years or more, have had a LOT of fun along the way, learned heaps too, met and have got to know some of you fabulous people here (several in person!), even managed to sell a card or three but those sales were two years ago and nothing much since, really. Will say here though that I never really expected the style/genre of my work to be popular (buy-able) anyway . . . however!

I’m SO EXCITED to announce that an anonymous buyer has taken a liking to TWO of my BMW images, below, as >> LARGE << FRAMED PRINTS! :-D To the anon buyer, whoever you are, THANK YOU SO MUCH, you’ll never know just how much you have SO made my day!!!!!!

Yours humbly, somewhat speechless and so STOKED! :-D

Bloomin' Spring blooms . . . II

I’m always conscious – or try to be – of not ‘flooding’ the image feed with ‘same-same’ images. I mean, images of flowers and more flowers (?) can become … erm, boring? So, collectively, in a single entry then, just a few more Spring blooms from my backyard . . . a few you might’ve seen before . . . oh and a kitty cameo or two ;-)…

Join me at the Juried Invitational Exhibition…

I am very excited to have my art selected to exhibit in SoJie 19. SoJie 19 takes its name from the first letters of Solo’s Juried Invitational Exhibition. 91 other artists, besides myself, have human figurative art or photography in the show.

Winners of the invitational will be announced on October 2nd, when a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, in addition to special judges’ awards, will be awarded in three categories: digital art, photography, and traditional art.

Non members, as well as members, ARE welcome to view all of the work nominated. So I hope that you will click the show banner, above, and follow the link to view my fellow exhibitors. Th

At time of writing, I have a new ‘fave’ Nik filter called “infra red”, accessed via Colour Effex Pro.
In it’s process, it will convert a colour image to b/w by default, but the b/w can easily be reverted back to colour if wished, with a click of a ‘button’, leaving a touch of the IR filter on the colour image >> LOVE! The ‘default’ version of IR though is VERY heavy-handed and obliterates a lot of detail :-(( As such, the default settings get backed off, considerably!

Early morning, Fitzroy Gardens, East Melbourne, across the road from Peter Macallum Cancer Center . . . my Dad was in for a PET scan that would take a goodly hour and a half and as I wasn’t allowed to wait with him in the imaging room, took the camera for a stroll in amongst the day’s early light and shadows. Post-edited with a little help from Nik’s Silver Effex Pro, and Nik’s Colour Effex’ “infra-red” filter . . . thanks also to the folk who happened to step into the images ;-)

Morning Retro . . .

If you’re a Melbourner, a cyclist, and live anywhere near the strip of road between Port Melbourne and Mordialloc known ‘collectively’ as “Beach Road”, undoubtably you might have come across or noticed in passing, a group of cyclists known as the “Bayside Bandidos Cycling Club”. Eclectic in interests professions competitiveness bicycles and age, but all passionate about their sense of fun and all things cycling! Instigated by a member well-known for his fabulous recollection of things/events historical and collections of bicycles (and bicycle bits), the first Saturday of each season is dedicated to dusting off the oldest (rideable and road-worthy) bike, decking out in cycle clothing appropriate to the era of said bike if possible, and turning up for a leisurely group pedal down the road, …

The intrigue of IR . . .

As most of you who follow some of my work will know, I’m a self-confessed ‘lazy’ and reluctant post-editor . . . that is, I’d rather keep editing (if any) very very simple (as unobtrusive/as unnoticeable as possible) in deference to spending any available spare time shooting. That said, I’ve been “dragged kicking and screaming” (just kidding!) to the world of editing via good friends Rhoufi and James Smith, whom without their patience and persistence, I’d still be shooting jpeg ;-)…

That said, I’ve always been rather intrigued/inspired by the IR (infra-red) imaging of other RB’rs here and like HDR, if done really well, IR gives a whole new aspect to b/w’s, and even colour! I envy those who have a dedicated/converted IR camera, but in the meanwhile, thank goodness for Nik’s very clever vers
