Dream Time

In the massive expanse

of the universe, endless as it seems

I often go exploring

With the speed of light in dreams

I feel light as a feather,

Lifted by drafts of air gong higher

Where did these wings come from

I’m like a unguided flier

The night is darker than usual

No stars or moon seem about

Am I Peter Pan in a musical

Look out , to a dragon I shout

Now where did he ever come from

Up from an unending sea

Of purple waves with orange crests

Oh what is happening to me

Adrift out here, no one else in sight

No ports or landing spots

I close my eyes for a second

And have visions of for-get-me-nots

Now things are getting darker

I can’t see anything if I try

Who knows how long I’ve been flying

Time was a teardrop in an inky sky
