I'm Making Myself Young Again

I am going to make me younger

by going back 61 years,

I will be twenty-one again

Not knowing any fears

I will be quite good looking

I will be a woman with a career

I will be working in New York City

That sure brings me cheer

I will have admirers to be sure

I will have glances come my way

Of course I have a special beau

That I will have to say

But while working in the City

I will be fancy free and fit

Dancing down fifth avenue

No time to stop and sit

Shopping in the fancy stores

Filling up my hope chest

My mother called it hopeless

But I had found the best

I will be bright and sassy

I will be clever in my way

Being smart and challenged in my job

Brings excitement to my day

I am thinking of a wedding

And a life of wedded bliss

I won’t know what is to happen

I will sigh with every kiss

I am looking into a future

that to me is yet unknown

I know there will be love there

It is already now full blown

What does the future hold for me?

At twenty-one I don’t want to know

I just want it all to unfold day by day

And with happiness to grow

I'm Making Myself Young Again
