The After Glow

She climbed into their bed alone again

Her lover so far away

Fighting for his country

and she closed her eyes to pray

Please come back to me my darling

I am longing for your touch

I knew that I always loved you

But I never knew how much

She closed her eyes, and sleep soon came

and he whispered in her ear

You will not be alone tonight

My darling I am here

She quivered as he touched her breasts

and sighed as he kissed her lips

Melted , his hand caressing every inch of her

as they wandered to her hips

Then as so many times before

The foreplay was concluded

And then the lovemaking began

no inch of her excluded

The rhythm of their bodies while entwined

was like the ocean waves going to and from the shore

and the thunder roared and the lightning struck

and she cried out for more

he held her so very close to him and their breathing was as one

Two joined together in ecstasy, then came the climaxing of souls

And their bodies strained together, two never could be closer

As he remained within her body while all the beauty still was bold

Then the sun streamed through the windows, leaving shadows on the walls

She awoke lying there alone across the sheets, and thought, where did he go

Then realized it was just a wonderful lovely dream, a gift to her

And she lie there quite contented, basking in the exquisite after glow
