The Heavenly Train

I stood waiting in the Railway Station
It seemed very strange to me
Everything was different about this one
That was so plain to see

The walls were deep mahogany
The doors were vast and wide
There were a lot of people there
All standing side by side

I knew some of these people
I can’t remember every name
But when they turned and saw me
They asked me why I came

I answered to meet a loved one
I needed to see again
And they said that they too
were waiting for a friend

We all stood and waited patiently
looking down the tracks
For the train would soon be approaching
We could hear the clicks and clacks

In the distance the whistle was blowing
As if it were surrounded and subdued by fog
That old familiar and haunting sound
That makes your memory jog

I have two children with me,
I am not worried about losing them
They are busy watching for the train
They fit in with the blend

There are other children there
Some older and some quite small
Everyone is speaking quietly
No anxiety at all

There it comes, we see the light
The train is approaching slowly now
It’s pulling into the station
I am patient, I don’t know how

The train is there and stopping
And the doors are opening wide
The light from it is beautiful
As are the passengers inside

I see them disembarking
And meeting with their friends
The love in the air is so intense
I enjoy the message that it sends

Then I see my daughter in the door
Wearing a dress of yellow gossamer glowing
And she runs to me, and hugs her children
She smiles at me all knowing

She said Mom, I have taken this Heavenly train
To come to see you on this night
I had to let you know, so you don’t worry
That though I can’t be with you, I’m all right

I could feel and hold her, touch her, love her
The feeling came over me that she had a heavenly gleam
But I was with her as if she were really here
And then the Train engine, started up it’s steam

Slowly, she turned and walked through the doors
Waving and blowing kisses with a smile
I saw the destination on the train – Heaven
I knew I’d be seeing her again, it just might take awhile

The train began to move slowly at first
As the engine built up steam
Then it went so fast it disappeared
And I woke up from my dream

Artist's Description

This is from an actual vision or dream I had, just six months after my daughter’s passing after I had asked her when I talk to her each night, to let me know she
was all right. Since that time I have been at peace in my heart
