Artist's Description

I am not sure if people will like this, it is, after all it is a LBJ (birdo talk for Little Brown Job, applied to those smaller and less spectacular birds that fill the bushes!), but I like it! I think I like it because I know the very limited distribution of these guys (the deserts of central Australia), and how difficult they are to see (mostly because of said distribution). Anyway, it is a photo that exemplifies the reason that I take photos and the reason that photography, in particular bird photography, make me so happy. This photo reminds me of finding this bird (for the first time ever), on a little rocky ‘jump-up’, out the back of Hart’s Range, about 30kms from the beaten track, one Autumn and it always will! The locations of where I first see birds are the signposts of my exploration of the world around me, and this one marks my year in Hart’s Range. Northern Territory, Australia.
