This combine took me a long time to make ( month’s ), I found the ships frayed mooring rope on the beach, which had kept a large boat safe and secure in harber, and this started the idea I felt I should do something with it.
I wanted to carry this feeling into the work of a loving relating relationship and that it should feel safe and secure and with protection to and from each other as the mooring rope had been to the boat.
The plated part of the rope is the joining of two. people – the frayed ends covering each head is the love and protection from each other . My intention was to give the the feeling of love trust and contented safety with each other in there own harber.
The original combine is a 3 foot x 4 foot board covered in painted background canvas – stainless steel – roap – aluminium – acrylic paint – screws & bit’s etc.
