Conor loves Eva it said, written in stone
Where seagulls and those other black birds call home
I wonder does he still love her as much
And does she still long for his gentle touch
Or is it that the love is gone
And as they pass some days on the train
Do they look on at the cliff and view it with pain
And I wonder if I was to put my love on the stone
Would it too take on a life of its own
And make passing passengers ponder its merit
And they in turn wonder should they do it
Who knows, not I, but its written in stone
Where the seagulls and those other black birds call home
