February Draw-a-Day 2013

Hey everyone!…

It has been a very long time since I posted something in here, I know! Life has been a bit busy for me, what with moving to the UK this year and getting a full-time job. I guess it took me some time to get used to it all, living away from home, having to take care of a household myself etc.

But I think I am finally getting the hang of it all, yay! And because I felt that I could do with some creative challenge again, I decided to repeat the challenge I did last year in February. Basically this challenge means I will be drawing one image every day for this month. So in the end I should end up with 28 drawings.

Now because I work full-time, this means I might not always have enough time to make something decent, which means some of these drawings will not be of great quality.

Daily-Draw February

Hey everyone!

For everyone who is interested, I am currently doing a bit of a challenge with some guys on a forum I go to. We’re going to post one drawing for every day in February. So that means 29 doodles/drawings/masterpieces!

If you want to see what I come up with, you can follow it over on my blog! If anything decent comes out of it, I’ll post it on here too of course, but so far I’m not counting on it. =P

Moving out... to a different country

So I have decided. I will be moving away soon, all the way from Belgium to the United Kingdom, where I will live with my boyfriend (who lives in the UK). It won’t happen until the start of 2012, but that will come soon enough!

It’s a big step for me as I currently still live at home. It’s also a big step financially. I am currently still unemployed, so getting the money together to find a flat to rent is not going to be easy. I hope that I can earn a bit of cash by selling my cards, though so far I’ve not had that much luck yet, only sold to family.

Even though moving out scares me (as it will mean leaving everything I know behind and starting over somewhere new), it’s also something very exciting! So I’m looking forward to it!

Give away!

So I am doing my first ever give away! I’m a bit excited about it, even though I don’t know if lots of people will participate haha.

I’ll be picking out one winner (more if I get a lot of response) who can pick from a few things: stud or dangle earrings, a magnet set or 3 postcards with my designs.

If you’re interested, you can see all the details and what to win here:

My own website!

Hey everyone!…

Been a long time since I updated here. I wish I had any art to show you, but sadly I don’t. Things have been a bit busy with my placements. I’m studying to be an art teacher, and it’s taking up so much of my time that I don’t really have the time myself to draw, heh. But it’s fine, I think I’m taking this time to hopefully regain some inspiration and motivation, so that in the future, when I graduate, I can start drawing again. =)

But that’s not what this journal is about. This journal is about my own website, which I painstakingly put together, not knowing anything about webdesign or webcoding. It’s a really basic and plain site, but I think it does its job. I launched it this week, and you can go and check it out here.

Hope everyone is well! Sorry if I haven’t replied to y

Hey everyone!

Another small update from me! School/uni has started and even though I’m in classes only two days per week the next two months, it’s already busy busy busy haha. But I still try to find the time to create things.

Currently trying to get some bookmark designs done. Most will use old images, but currently working on a new image too, yay. =)

I’ve also started making rings with images. Well I only have three, only one of them using a drawing of mine haha. I quite like it though. =D

And one with some text (though I can do other text too, if someone would like that).

Both available in my Etsy shop if you’re interested. Just click the photos. =)

Thanks for your support!

Hey everyone! I wanted to thank everyone for showing their support on my last journal, when I mentioned my lack of inspiration and the horrible artist’s block I was in. Reading those supportive comments really helped me to not feel too down about it all. So thank you!…

While I was in my artist’s block, I also started doing something completely new to me: making earrings. I found it to be a very peaceful and fun way to pass the time, something that could take my mind off the lack of art I was producing. Though I’m still very much a newbie when it comes to making jewelry, I decided to put some that I’ve made in an Etsy store.

But of course I’m still drawing as well. Recently uploaded two more works, and I hope to make some more soon. Had some eye surgery on Friday which I’m still sort

Lack of inspiration

I’m sure we’ve all been there many times. You have lots of free time that you can finally spend on your own stuff… but then that blasted artist’s block shows its ugly head and completely prevents you from creating anything.…

For the last month (and longer) I seem to have been cursed by this. There is a severe lack of inspiration. Maybe a lack of motivation too. Where you do want to create something, but you just can’t get yourself to do it. I think that one of my problems at the moment is that I don’t really know what technique and what style I can use any more. I guess I feel a bit lost maybe.

I’m desperately looking for inspiration, for something that will give me that spark I need to get back into art and to create images. It’s been so long since I created anything and I really miss tha

Diploma + Etsy store

Hey everyone! Just to let you all know I finally got my Master Degree! I can now call myself Master in Graphic Design. Yay! =D
It’s been a long and difficult four years, but I’m happy I did it all. Now the next step is teacher training, the studying never ends haha. =)

For anyone interested, I uploaded a digital file of my book on my blog, which means you can flip through all the pages of the book and read it. Sadly the text is in Dutch, so unless you speak Dutch, the text won’t mean much to you heh. But you can still look at the images. =P

Lastly, I set up my Etsy store, yay! At the moment there’s not that much in there yet, but I’m hoping to put in more items/drawings/prints at some point. So feel free to browse through my store. =)
