Kate Silverton, a plea to a BBC Newsreader

Kate Silverton

Kate Silverton, Kate Silverton,
What have you done, Kate Silverton?
I thought that you were waiting just for me!
You know I’m quite outraged
Now that you have got engaged
And now I realise you’ve set me free.

No longer will your views
On bits of daily news
Thrill me as I eat my Weetabix.
I thought that I must stand a chance
But you’ve led me a merry dance
And left me in a very troubled fix.

A gentleman I’ve always been
Adoring you on my plasma screen,
But now I feel that that we will never be.
Now that you have crushed my heart
I know that it is time to part
And I might have to switch to ITV!
