Artist's Description

Three Sisters of Glen Coe

Named as Gearr Aonach (Short Ridge) and Aonach Dubh (Black Ridge) and Beinn Fhada (Long Hill) these three steeply sided ridges extend into the glen above Glencoe.
The glen is also known as the Hidden or Lost Valley and it is believed that in earlier times the valley was used by members of Clan Macdonald to hide stolen cattle.
The “Three Sisters” are an imposing site as one enters the glen from Rannoch Moor and whilst looking rather majestic on a bright sunny day this scene shows the sisters as the wind and rain move in from the west shrouding the mountians in low cloud and mist.
