Artist's Description

Hartland Point Lighthouse
Now an unmanned light house since 1984 it was originally manned by four men who lived there in dwellings attached to the light house but these were demolished to make way for a helipad.
Hartland Point marks the south westerly limit of the Bristol channel
The island in the distance is Lundy Island.
For visitors as you walk from the car park you pass a large area consisting of a concrete base which initially you would think was probably something to do with houses but is in fact the remains of a water gathering supply of fresh water for those working in the lighthouse.
