Winter Flurries

The snow lay heavy on the ground,
and the wind was blowing all around,
it was not a fit night out for man nor beast,
it was not a fit night out for men in the least,
the trees were heavily burdened with snow,
and yet the winter storm continued to blow,
blanketing every thing insight.
the storm showed no signs of respite,
by morning though it had began to wane,
and the snow lay heavy against the pane
weatherman said “16 inches maybe more”
luckily it was" flurries" and nothing more.

Flurries in Wisconsin
I’m sorry I couldn’t help but poke fun at Wisconsin winters and the accuracy of weather forecasts.
