Artist's Description

This Territorial Wisconsin log cabin now at Shake Rag Alley in Mineral Point was built in 1830 as a school a short distance to the east of its current location. It may be the oldest schoolhouse in Wisconsin. The stone cottage was built ca.1840 along with a stone cellar foundation to which the cabin was moved. The house was last occupied (until1958) by " Tea Kettle Annie " who dipped her kettle in the spring each day.
