Sometimes I Wonder Why . . .

Sometimes I wonder why this keloid is on my face
Or why I was pushed off the tricycle – what a disgrace
My chin was sewed up as shoes are laced

Sometimes I wonder why I fell off that scooter
The pavement turned into a stingy flesh looter
Drunken with laughter children became hooters

Sometimes I wonder why I’m awful with money
My checks used to bounce like perky bunnies
So cash and I became really chummy

Sometimes I wonder why I was saved
So many people here walking in graves
We must let them know what GOD gave

I guess what has happened doesn’t matter
When it is measured against our latter
It seems each ingredient changes the platter

So fill this platter with what must be
Like children given dessert for eaten peas
I shall willingly await my reward with ease

Sometimes I Wonder Why . . .
