My Heart, Your Home

If I promise to be true
And always love you
If I set a steady pace
And run this race
If I take my cross
And don’t get lost

Will you promise not to leave me
Or break our sacred treaty
Will you baptize me with fire
And in you lift me hire
Will you help me to embark
And finish what we start

I took an oath of faith
In your blood I bathed
You applied mercy and grace
Now my fears I can face
I know I am never alone
You’ve made my heart your home

Artist's Description

This poem was made when I realized just what God had given me. Not only had he saved my soul from hell but he also gave me His Holy Spirit to dwell in me and make sure I make it home to Him. He gave me His assurance that I would never be alone again. That means a lot to me; I’m the type of person that could have been alone with a house full of people.
