In the Bone Suit, within each painting (or card) I am combining traditional playing card, a prehistoric fossil, a human skeleton, a mythical element, and a flower or plant.

Card – King of Spades

Prehistoric Fossil – T-Rex, of course.

Human Skelton – Richard III, kingly remains that were just recently located and reinterred.

Mythical Element – King Tut’s death mask, while real enough, Egyptian burials are full of the mythic.

Flower – Archaeanthus which paleontologists identify from its fossil as an ancient ancestor of the Tulip Tree as well as the Nymphaea lotus, also know as the tiger lotus, white lotus or Egyptian white water-lily.
