Artist's Description

Couldn’t find any word which better describes the ‘Drongo’ other than drone…

Although they’re mostly dark to almost black birds (like the raven)… besides their beauty ~ there’s little that can be said for their “chit-chat” although it must make sense to them…

They don’t half “go on and on and on”… not a drone as such but it might as well be ~ because they seem to never shut up when there is company around…

Obviously a male calling out to a nearby female who could be seen perched in a tree some distance away. This species seemed to either be wanting to attract attention or goading her into keeping a distance.

With the surrounding trees laden with many fruits ~ which these ‘Drongos’ might be partial to… along with a diet of insects, this fella might be ‘attracting for a party’ or defending his territory…?

Identification due to a white iris seemed to reveal that this was either the “Bronzed Drongo” (Dicrurus aeneus) or the “Hair Crested Drongo” (Dicrurus hottentottus).

Either way ~ a “real noisy drongo” !!! :D :-/
