Artist's Description

Almost “like a fallen sea-angel” and not too distantly related… the autonomous behaviour of this little critter is highly dependent upon munching on its favourite food source.

A voracious predator of hydroids ~ this colourful little specimen can be seen here digesting and devouring its stinging prey items probably along with some elements of marine algae too…!

Hydroids, although small and almost transparent ~ pack a powerful little punch.

This particular nudibranch, however, doesn’t let their power go to waste ~ transferring some of the sting to their ‘cnidosacs’ on their backs. Brightly colourful bulbous tips become ‘armed with toxins’ and keep this little gastropod from being eaten…
