Modern Corruption

There once was a time in our lives,
When we were not ruled by guns and knives,
But before this terrible war,
Was one fleeting glance at peace.

We once loved you and I,
Never have we been such enemies,
Before the horrible times,
We were ruled by guns and knives.

History can be changed,
Lives can be erased,
Love cannot be mended,
As loving is not our place.

Such evil in the world,
Has always gone unspoken,
There will be a savior,
But only in our minds.

Never has the world been so cruel,
Always have we felt this pain,
But we cannot be ready,
For the world’s redemption.

Satin’s had his fun,
The world will seem cruel,
The only reason we live on,
Is for hope that is vane.

We know there is no hope of survival,
But we continue on,
The only reason we live,
Is for a day that will not come.

If only there was a day,
If only once in time,
That there was not a day,
We were not ruled by .

Is that so hard to come by?
Only one day in time?
But it is not the nature of our world,
To let people be without crime.

There are no happy days,
There is only one sunshine,
There is a major drawback,
It is a dark sun.

The only light we get,
Is light that’s doused with darkness,
But what place is it of ours,
To question those who are in charge?

I say that we fight back,
Not that we sit back and watch,
It is not that we will recover time lost,
But catch time that is passing.

We all know that truth,
We are the ones at fault,
But our minds are too self serving,
To admit that they are wrong.

The only thing deceived about the world,
Are the minds that run it,
But who is going to stop the confusion,
When we all contribute?

Problems that we face,
Are only everyday,
But our future children are going to say,
Why didn’t you stop it on the way?

Our children shouldn’t suffer,
Not for our own benefit,
So what if problems cost money?
At least we will fix what’s wrong.

The world’s leaders are corrupt,
But if the leaders are elected,
That who is to say we aren’t?
We need to accept the responsibility.

It is our world,
So they are our problems,
We keep on saying they aren’t,
But on that line who is to stay?

Everyone is at fault,
But only few admit,
The minds defenses are adept,
To blame the undecided.
