Artist's Description

Ray Bradbury, eminent Science Fiction writer, died 6th June 2012. His most famous works were, I think: “The Martian Chronicles,” and “Farenheit 451.”

A young high school student, I would go downtown and stop at a local library on the way to read as many of Bradbury’s stories as I could, cramming them into the hour or two I had before I had to get home, taking a book or two with me.

I credit science fiction for exercising and developing my then already massive and fast growing imagination, and, I think, especially, the works of Ray Bradbury.

Ray said that as a young boy he thought he was not of this world; when he first saw a picture of Mars, his first thoughts were: “Take me back!”

Vale, Ray. Thanks so muh for all you gave me. Here’s a little tribute with a Martian flavour. Hope you like it!
