Artist's Description

Rainbows are just about as hard to photograph as they are to chase.
To me I find comfort in the idea from many religions and mythologies that rainbows are the bridges to heaven.

Double rainbows are very rare, especially those that have a full arc from horizon to horizon, though amazingly in the past year I have seen four, but have only manged to capture one. This is mainly due to the fact that Im totally mersnerised by the vision, they dont last long and by the time I get my camera out the rainbow has usually gone.

The most astonoshing thing about this picture, – which was of a full arc double rainbow but only having my small digital camera on me couldnt capture the full effect – is that if you look inbtween the two rainbows, there are two doves.
Wow doves are another sign of peace and the heavens, for those of you that know the story of Noah’s ark, he knew they could return safely to land after the floods when the dove returns with an olive sprig in it’s beak.

The second arc in a double rainbow is always a mirror image.
