Artist's Description

High tide is one of my favorite times feeling the spray of the powerful waves against my face blowing my hair against the sea spray. In the morning at low tide, it is always a surprise what rocks, shells and treasures the waves have brought to shore. On Point Dume, I once found a rusted arrowhead that looked like a Chumash Indian Relic, this being their sacred burial grounds. There is a lot of history attached to our native Americans on their beautiful beaches that still today are owned by the Indians and leased to the home owners. The native Indians own the rights to the land. For those who have the money, they can buy the right to own the property from the Indians since rightfully these lands were never taken from the native tribe. This long distance shot shows another perspective of these breathtaking views with the homes overhanging the sea. On several occasions, I have leased homes for several weeks for a vacation and never would know I was 15 minutes from my home in West Los Angeles. I am carried into another world that could be anywhere on the Planet;time and distance exists on another plane when I am at the ocean. I am transported to another dimension in time and space. I plan to go to Point Dume where I lived years ago to photograph its towering cliffs and the majestic shores. I believe that many spirits live here adding to the peaceful and serene ambience of this very sacred place. I could be on beaches all over the world and never find the contentment I feel when I wake up to the sounds and smells of the surf of my private haven watching the surfers waiting patiently for the next wave, a perennial activity in Southern California. Remember, Malibu is the home of the Beach boys who were the most proflific writers of songs about the beach and surf culture growing up on the shores of Malibu. When I lived in Point Dume, many considered it an inspiring place including one of the icons of our time, Bob Dylan. Please view
