SPECTACULAR
A poem by Franke

Have you ever noticed
that baby’s have eyes as
deep as any cave, yet,
as open as the galaxy
in all its’ wonder,
and with each word
you speak there is
a spark within that seems
to come to life
seeking to know…
Isn’t that spectacular…

And when your son
takes his first solo ride
on his bike,
there is fear in his eyes
which is paled by his need
for your approval
and he gives it his all
because the joy he sees in
your face, makes him glow…
Isn’t he spectacular…

It doesn’t take much
to sense the joy
your little girl feels
as she imitates you,
putting on your makeup.
You sit together,
eyes transfixed on each other,
the mirrored reflexion
shows how pretty you both are.
And that is spectacular…

As time passes and baby becomes
A young child growing into
A young adult
Your thoughts are proud
Knowing you have done all
That is right in your mind
To ensure everyone
Who sees and experiences
This wonder you have
Guided through life to become
A spectacular part of our world
