This engin is 100 years old, it is a 1-4-2. Owned by the Grand Canyon Railway.
This engine has been restored. The Grand Canyon Railway ran from Williams, Arizona to the Grand Canyon, it serviced the Canyon and the Harvey Houses.
It functioned until about the 1970 ar there abouts. In the early 1990’s interest was revived and restoration of the line began. It now runs daily every day of the year, Snow or no snow. It uses disel engins now but this one and several others are restored.
It is not used to run the Polar Express ride, that is reserved for two disel engins.
The polar express runs from Mid November to Mid January.
Hot choclate, cookies are served, the story is read Santa gives out bells.
Children and some adults dress in Pj’s, robes and slippers.
