Artist's Description

Along Route 66, just a few miles outside of Amarillo, is Cadillac Ranch. In the 70’s, a local rancher/millionaire commissioned some hippies from San Fran, dubbed the Animal Farm, to build a road side attraction. They took Cadillacs from various years and buried them nose down in to the ground. Over time, the cars have bee stripped of anything possible and spray painted with graffiti. At first glimpse, one would think that as sad. But actually, it has become a major road side attraction and a piece of public art. It is fun, quirky and Americana all in one.
