Artist's Description

This is an Etegami collage. This swamp plant which comes up in early spring, almost before the snow has melted, is painted in the traditional etegami method on a soft washi postcard, then cut out and glued to a background of hand-dyed crinkly washi paper.

Etegami is a traditional Japanese folk art that combines simple hand-painted images with thoughtful words.
