Reeds near the beach. Bournemouth, UK.
Effect achieved in-camera by moving the camera while the shutter was open.
Title pinched from David’s poem.
We lie beneath the summer grass.
Their golden stalks reach high.
We’ve lied here for so many years just you and I.
This place of ours a hidden treat a place so full of love.
We come to rest and dream all day when summer comes this way.
We lie and smell the summers grass and dream of all we have.
And touch our toes as we lie the grass so cool this day.
The sun has come and bleached it all as golden blades reach high.
This place our places just you and I and all the things that fly.
We lie and face the deep blue sky as robins sing out loud.
And you my love smell like the grass so fresh so wonderful.
As I lie here and look at you the years have blessed you dear.
My mind brings back our first time here many years ago.
A time when we were oh so young and you were my first kiss.
And now as I remember this a smile comes to my face.
For here beneath these golden stalks while robins sing out loud.
I smell your hair and feel you there like many times before.
And like the grass that grows so tall my love for you does bloom.
And come the setting of the sun I’ll kiss your lips again.
