Red Bubble Rumble Cockatoo Island 2012

Will be posting the saga in a bit…
I was fortunate enough to be a part of the Red Bubble Rumble Cockatoo Island 2012 at Easter. I had had a really early start to the day. Train trip from Nowra. Arrived in Central train station in Sydney and tried to find my hotel in Pitt Street. Well I think the Cab driver could have pointed from the Taxi Rank – a block away – I could have walked there! $6.50 later arrived at hotel.

Mad rush to Circular Quay – only to find that I had the wrong Wharf and when I got to the right one – I was told “the next one is at a quarter past.” What the lovely State Rail/Ferry employee should have said – missed it by (Five minutes) this much!" An hour later it wasn’t until the next one was due. So I thought I had better have lunch. How wrong could a Salad baguette be? Well just as well as I was wearing black leggings as the beetroot juice (or “Jus”?) leaked well and truly all over my lap.

Did not have long to wait – an hour does indeed go quickly! Had a wonderful blowy ferry trip along the Sydney Harbour and met some new faces.

All had been fed and watered at the Cockatoo Island Cafe so I went and had a very quick wander. I found myself with lots of “oohs” and aahhs" at the myriad of photo opportunities to get that image. I was very glad I wore sensible shoes. I wish I had taken a hat as I did get a wee bit sunburnt! And I thought since there were some kids climbing all over the place – I did not feel too guilty by climbing onto a ledge or leaning over a fence to get shots I did. (I could possibly pass for a kid – I am tiny enough!)
Will be posting a bit more along with images in my portfolio! Many thanks to Phillip and Rosalie for a great bit of organising the Rumble!
