Artist's Description

The window in St Philip’s Church Plymouth.
I was minister in this Church from 1999 – Aug 2008.

Every morning as I went for prayer this window reminded me of the miracle of the feeding of the 5000 and how the disciples were to take a basket with a little bread and some fish to feed 50 people each. Now imagine being in front of Jesus and He tells you to go and feed groups of 50 people with a piece of broken bread and a little fish? ‘How on earth will that feed everyone?’ you may be thinking. As they obeyed the Lord though, the miracle happened and they were left with twelve basketfuls left over and everyone was satisfied.

Do we believe in miracles? I know that I do NOW! But there was a time when I doubted.

As a minister of Jesus Christ, He has given us a message of Good News for a world that is constantly grasping at bad news. How on earth will this message satisfy everyone? It’s just as much a Miracle to me when one person comes to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ; His death on the Cross for our sin, and His bodily resurrection from the dead. It seems a foolish message, until one puts his faith and trust in Him, then the eyes are opened, the heart is changed and the light of Christ comes in, and what’s left over? A life transformed for the Glory of God.

Have a wonderful Christmas one and all.

Love and BIG hugs,

Don.
