haywire political rant

I wanna fly with you
Right
Over time, experience, emotion
And broken
Ability
To a place where my senses
Operate
On
A foreign
dimension
Finding your heartbeat
In
The womb of the sky
Gentle
And quiet
Built with love and hope and
Colour and
Gemstones
Green glaze starry
Gaze
Hopeless eyes that never
Escape
You
I wanna
Fade
Into
Something other
Than
The sludge of capitalist
Gain
Maiming my heart
Taking
The right to emotional outburst
Taking justice
From
The
Poor
And handing it to the rich
Making it something to
Write
Books
About
Leaving it in the fantasy aisle
Because our
Brave
New
World
Can’t handle the fact that we’re
All
Human
And we need a savior
Not a corporate office to cure the ills
Of our
Distemper
Not a bigger pay cheque
That we think
Controls
Our
Future
As if money could cure cancer

Abandonment and
Rage
We’re all contained by a
Chicken wire
Cage
Some insecurity ripping our jeans and
Pulling
Our
Hair out
Mine’s anxiety, what’s yours?
What if you knew
That I
Was
Worse
I wish I could tell
You
I wish you could
See that
My heart bleeds like
Yours

And in the darkness of
The night
I feel your loneliness
Your apathy
At
The crest of dawn
Longing for a heaven you never
Experienced
Before
[what if His name is beautiful]
What if His love for you
Was a
bed
Of roses red and blue
And purple
And gold
What if he knows you,
Really
Sees
The ailments that tease you
Life will never
Improve
Just
Work harder to get a better
Pay
Cheque
What if He’s not like your father
Not like the TV
Preacher
Not like the doctorate man giving
Lectures
On quantum physics
And a
Theory
Of
Evolution he made up
Because he
thought
God took his mother away
Yet it surprises you
When
I
don’t
Have the answers
As if I was better than you
I’m not you
See
Christianity isn’t a statement about me
But about who my God
Is
About who rescues me from the hamster
Wheel of self-improvement
They say our standard is
too
high
but at least we admit that
we can’t
reach
it
and aren’t the world’s standards
even more
crippling?
Big boobs, flat stomach, sports car
Get straight A’s but
Party
Hard
So you’re not like
That guy
In
The
Corner
No one wants to be like him
Look nice while
You
Please yourself
Praise yourself
Feed yourself
Believe yourself
And then we wonder why we’re stuck
In our
Addictions
As if selfishness would remedy
The poverty
That
Strips man of dignity, starving
And
Bloated while we live in a
Fast food chain
Market
Where chemicals replace
nutrients
And medications are the
solution
For nutrition based
Diseases
Because someone wanted a better
Pay
Cheque
And you say spirituality is irrelevant

Did we get
Here
Because we were too
Spiritual?
Too selfless, giving and
Kind?
Lets rewind to the fact
That you remove
Church
From
State
And then expect them to operate
With a moral
Compass
You see Darwin was “intelligent”
But he was
Also
Racist
And sure there are racist Christians
But
It’s because they’re deceived not
Because their belief
Dictates
it
I
Think if Jesus were
Here
He would hug every Aboriginal man and woman
And say
“I’m sorry my
Son,
My
Daughter,
My beautiful child,
They didn’t know what they were doing.”
