We had the experience of a “wintery mix” (as the weathermen are fond to call it) over much of central and southeastern South Dakota. This precipitation fell initially as freezing rain for 12 hours with an encore of 4 inches of fresh white stuff followed by 3 days of temperatures hovering around the zero mark. (The day before this storm hit the temps were 61 degrees (F). Ah the extremes we see as Spring and Winter wrestle for position.
Even though I am anxious for Spring to take over, I thought this glass-like grass was pretty cool.
