This image was really of a rather poor quality. The morning light was so strong and try as I might I could not get a decent image of the swans as they were much more interested in feeding off the bottom of the pond than posing for me to take their picture. However, after both my legs were nearly numb from crouching in the grass by the lake… one of them at last rose up out of the water to give its wings a great flapping and then settled back into eating. The motion was somewhat blurred but I loved the glorious posture of the swan and the dramatic high contrasting tones of white on black water. So, rather than pitch the technically imperfect photograph into my trash bin I decided to see if it could be “artistically redeemed”. This applied PS affect is the result.
