Artist's Description

acrilics on paper
tigers do not really roar like a lion does they growel and make other sounds but not a full blown roar as a lion this in fact was taken from a photo of a tiger who had just caught the scent of a feamle in season they make this strange expresion somtimes it looks as if they have just tasted somthing unpleasent but lest you think im humanising well im not we tend to put our own interpritations on animal behaviore in doing so we do them a diservise for instnce for so long it was believed that the big cat where not very inteligent but they now have come to a different understanding you see thier jaws and cannine teeth and the muscle surrounding both are so large they have had to saccrifice the size of there brain but all they really have done is lose those areas of the brain not needed for thier survival so that everything about them is geared to hunting even thier play as cubs is preperation for adulthood all the areas we use for art litriture poetry romance conversation ect are irelivent in thier world but you only have to watch lions hunting they use stratgies and each lioness has a specific role to play towards a common end and tigers will watch and learn thier preys habits and behaviore and then waite in patience to ambush while at the same time constnatly able to take advantage of any oppertunistic moments
