Quality artwork, lots of energy, what direction?

There are a lot of quality artists and photographers here. There is a lot of great art and photography here. There is a LOT of energy here. And it is, from what I’ve seen, POSITIVE energy. The web interface is tops: it’s quick, user intuitive, and very user interactive. All these things are positives and relatively new in an art website experience.

I’ve been on Deviant art as a paying member who wasn’t showing art, but was instead going about looking and commenting on art. I got very tired very quickly of the negatives I found. I’ve been a member of Wet Canvas. I’ve been a member of Art Critique. I’ve been…everywhere. This is, by far, the very best I have ever experienced, and one of the companies I run builds websites, so this is no small feat of web presence I’m applauding.

That said, though, the majority of the traffic here is not the art buying/tshirt buying/card buying public. The majority of traffic here, like all artists websites, save allposters and art.com is…drumroll, please: ARTISTS and PHOTOGRAPHERS. We are not OUR customer. Our customer is “out there.” Therefore, we need to promote OURSELVES, but ALSO the VENUE: REDBUBBLE.
