Reality

Ya know in the name of the Father and the Spirit
You can’t get away, but you can get near it
You know you want to run, you know you want to hide
But everytime you go, you slip and slide
You think it’s a fantasy, you think it’s a dream
But everytime you hit reality you always scream
You want to understand and you want to know why
Things never are as easy as pie
with goals as close as this
How could you miss
Something so simple and so plain
Now you’re leaning on a cane
Try and try you might
Though you never win the fight
The problems that are faced today
May NEVER EVER go away

Artist's Description

this was intended to be a song but it sounded a little better as a poem, althought they are very similar. Basically this poem talks about how you dream up all these goals for yourself, but as you get close you freak out because you think you’re not going to make it, so then you ‘fall in front of the finish line’ and ‘self-destruct’ causing your nightmare to happen…basically the last lines in the poem say ‘get over it, keep goin…’
