Taken in my back yard last Spring through Summer. Marana, Az with a canon powershot sx10is
3-2-10
During the Summer monsoons and occasional springs, large numbers of this mostly Mexican Species migrate northward into the Southwest. This influx may be so strong that several can pass over a given location every minute, pausing only at a damp spots and nectar before moving northward again.
They establish temporary colonies where larvae food plants are available, only to be wiped out by freezing temperatures in winter.
Though not true southwestern residents, cloudless sulphers in their seasonal abundance are hard to miss. males are immaculate, bright lemon-yellow; Females are pale orange to greenish-white. If disturbed while copulating, they may take flight without disengaging, the male flying with the female hanging underneath.

I am going to experiment with a few poster ideas. Please let me know what you think~ thank you !
I like this one too, I read your reply and I had the same thought about the teachers being able to use these in Science Class. That is neat that you can find these in your backyard. I see the B’flies but not the others
I was looking through and just thought that maybe I could pull it off. I like the idea of having a “collection” of sorts on one piece. Who knows were it will lead……As always Bonnie, thank you~♥
Go for it, and find eggs as well if you can. It’s really fascinating, if a bit messy, to raise caterpillars through to adulthood.
A lovely collage.

Many thanks to you J! That would nice to find eggs, I will try this year!
What a gorgeous collage. Beautiful captures all rolled up into one. Excellent.
Thank you Kat! I am pleased that it is being received well!
Beautiful collection !! One thing I have found in collages is that a black borders takes nothing away from the images and shows then up better or dark brown . Cheers!
I appreciate the advise. Do you not like the green, because I was going for something that I thought would blend and as well as be peaceful. I looked at other collages and it seems as if everyone is using black. I wanted something a little easier on the eyes…… Your opinion like others are valuable to me and as I said I am playing around with different ideas. Thank you Judy!
I agree Lilian, thank you for your kind words a support!
This is a stunning collage, & I have to say I like the green border. I’m sure you’ve tried it with a range of colors – would be good to offer it in several colors, maybe.
I did try it with all colors and settled on the green. Using the shadow effect I thought it looked good. I can change the color if anyone is wanting different colors as the border. Perhaps I am to fond of green, it is a power color for me…lol. Thank you for that!
What a great idea you have here Kimberly, bringing all these shots together.
I am going to be experimenting with a few “poster” ideas in the next future…..Thank you for your supportive comment!
Fabulous again, Kimberly! Great idea make collages with the small sized images…. Beautiful effect indeed. ;o)
Thank you again for your supportive words of encouragement!
Very well done Kimberly…

I liked this so much… Guess what?

George thank you! That means a great deal to me and is a awesome start to my day~☼
