I panic myself, though it’s not good for health
All my pills, lined up on the shelf
I reach for my crutch, when life gets too much
The chemicals I eat mostly make me numb
Wouldn’t do much good to go peek under my hood
Some things remain mysteries as they should

And I roll down the middle never too low or too high
Straight down the center, the key to happy life
Never take a stance, too far from the fence
Happiness is never being right or left

Now I’ve lived this way, and it’s this way that I’ll stay
Though I’ve lost my wit, some distant sunny day
Now I have no teeth, they were only in the way
Better disarm your mouth lest it something to say

And I roll down the middle never too low or too high
Straight down the center, the key to happy life
Never take a stance, too far from the fence
Happiness is never being right or left

So I keep myself, clean and disease free
Don’t involve myself, in something that’s not me
My strength is gone, a flattened rubber shell
A third rate actor missing my own scene

And I roll down the middle never too low or too high
Straight down the center, the key to happy life
Never take a stance, too far from the fence
Happiness is never being right or left
