Artist's Description

Ascoli Piceno, Le Marche (Italy)

A very typical street scene outside a pizzeria. The name of the pizzeria is ‘culo e camicia’ – an Italian saying that is very loosely translated to the English equivalent ‘thick as thieves.’ (And yes, for those of you who have ever learnt Italian – the words on their own have very, very different meanings!!)

The pizzeria is a popular place for young people to get together and ‘hang out’!
