Artist's Description

These Butterflies are capable of flying 2,000 miles from Canada to Mexico and back again to the southern United States. Millions migrate every autumn, often stopping in the same rest spots each year. Some even fly as far as Hawaii and eastern Australia, with many generations a year. This one was photographed in Port Stanley, ON Canada These butterflies are also called King Billy (here in Canada) because its orange and black colours are those of King William of Orange.

Equipment: Canon EOS 20D with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens and a 1.4 tc.
