Lace'em Up

How many foot prints can a pair of shoes make?
Count them. Count them to see what it takes,
And you’ll cover the world and all that’s within,
Before you arrive at the gates of where dreams begin.

Just how far can a pair of shoes go?
Ask the toes they always know,
And they’ll tell you too of a strange eerie smell,
And a weary old tale of hard work in hell.

How many secrets can a pair of shoes have?
Well there is mischief, and cheeky, and we’re all in strife,
There’s that day at the creek, and run for your life,
And what I just told you, well, that’s all a lie,
“cause I crossed my heart and hoped to die,

How many things can a pair of shoes do?
Many more things than I ever knew,
They can run, and jump, and dance, and skate,
They can kick a ball, but the thing that I hate,
Is they might think that makes them aces,
but how come they can’t tie their own laces.
