In the southern higlhlands the road divides and the left branch leads into the Eastotoe valley and McKinny Chapel. Eastotoe is the Cherokee name for the Carolina Parakeet “now extinct.” The bird clan of the Cherokee lived in this valley. The right branch leads to a popular getaway named Rocky Bottom.
In the juncture of the road is a small dilapidated frame building that is a club of sorts named “Bobs Place” and popluar with bikers, Its history and legacy has it known as “Scatter Brains” and for good reason.
The road sign to Mckinny Chapel and the beautiful Eastotoe valley serves as a target for the local hellions.
