After an evening of snow and overcast weather, the following morning God brought a beautifully crisp, fresh and glorious day of clear rich blue skies and a radiant warm sun. And the best place to enjoy this was at Knole Park in Sevenoaks.
By chance I walked past this tree with the sun coming through and knew it was a great photo. I spent five minutes experimenting and hoping that when I returned home and uploaded the photos that one would as accurately as was possible recreate being there.
I’m was very glad with the result.

Nice pic.
I agree :0 :) :) :)
Oh wow!! Devan!!! This is glorious!!! Is that a full sized tree or a hip high one? It looks majestic, yet small at the same time (if you know what I mean?). LOVE how you placed the sun in the composition and the way the shadows (with your low camera angle) come right towards us :) Wonderful :)
to reply to your question Craig, It is a tree rather than a shrub. From the ground to the first branch is probably 1.8m.
Thanks to all for your comments.
WOW :) Sorry, I just have a lot of salt lakes around here and the bushes in those are sometimes about 50mm tall, yet at just the right angle etc … I can make them look like full sized trees. I just wondered ;) :) VBS
Cracking good shot – shadows are awesome.
The result is beautiful! The shadow, the sun… it looks so peaceful.
radiant and fresh!
Great shot! Was hoping to catch some nice snow shots this winter when I went up snowboarding, but we got stuck in a hurricane, so I’m hoping for next winter :)
