"I Placed A Stone..."

I placed a stone on my palm—

Small—sort of like a bird’s egg—

Quartz I think

Careful, though I knew
It would not break
Should it fall;

Tilting it in the sunlight—of course,
Knowing
The sun brought out its color
And not the reverse—

No matter what is inside
It is all dormant to us
Before given our attention,

Lightened for observation,

Recognized into living or dying…

My God!
How blind we are

Without You to turn us—

Illuminant we are validated;

Of course,
The converse—from the inside out;

Revealing and lifting the world
For focus;

From deeper cinema
Into wider screen of reality,

All the motion

Of Your never still
Ever extending
Opening hand….

"I Placed A Stone..."
