Artist's Description

Each day the large bull elephant leads the young male elephants across the Chobe river. They go to an island in the river to graze. At the end of the day he leads them back to the main land.
I watched in the morning as the young elepnats waited for the large bull to come down to the banks of the river, before they would start to cross. Then I was lucky enough to be there when they returned.
I stayed in a small cottage in this area. In the wee hours of the morning I heard hollering and pans being beated together, it was the owner of the cottage out in the road scaring away elephants from his yard. Just amazing! I have to return some day.
