JPG's Near Death Experience

For those of you who don’t know about JPG yet, copy-paste this www.jpgmag.com/people/dblauerjr and you will see why so many claim to be addicts.

For those of you who are familiar with JPG, It now looks like the site may yet be saved. But i have to wonder if any how this near death experience might affect JPG. For instance, i had never heard of RedBubble.com until my fellow JPGr and greatly admired photographer, Audrey Kanekoa Madrid mentioned it. She was simply trying to keep in touch with friends and peers and revealed that we could find her at RedBubble. Well i got bit by the RedBubble bug and immediately uploaded most of my best photos from JPG to RedBubble. Some Aspects of RedBubble are better than JPG, like having an excellent avenue for sales and some are not, like lacking thematic voting competition to be published in a magazine.

However, here’s the rub. With JPG’s imminent resuscitation, i and many other photographers will dividing our attentions twixt two photosharing websites instead of one. Good for us, maybe not so good for JPG
