Did you know us?

Great Gaia, where are you? You allow us too much.
Your permission to breed here, did you know we were such?
Do you hope to redeem every horrendous theft?
We will steal every asset till nothing is left.

There is much in the way that we trample this earth.
Owning the soil, like a belt for it’s girth.
We clothe it in poison, like a festering seed.
And watch it’s demise all giddy with greed.

We scurry like ants taking all that we can.
Sucking down resources much like quicksand.
The earth, and the water, the air that we breath.
Overcrowding it all, taking over like weeds.

The expanse of all time that built all the mountains.
We climb, we destroy, eroding stone like a countdown.
In the pure breath of air that gives life to this planet.
We exhale all our excesses, overflowing like fountains.

We churn up the waves and drink all it’s glory.
We muddy the waters with the grime of our folly.
In truth we are plague, all the guise of a pustule.
Bleeding our ooze, wearing humanities costume.

We scar and we torture every inch that we touch.
Leaving rot and decay to consume it like rust.
We mangle like children, throwing a toy.
With so little care for all we’ve destroyed.

Will you let us Great Gaia, commit such atrocities?
Without any conscience, we are viral monstrosities.
Awaken yourself, wage war if you can.
Seek retribution, rain your wrath upon man.

Did you know us?
