His Seven Words

He was unperturbed
He expected
To be nailed to a wooden cross
To suffer
Hours of unimaginable cruelty
He expected
His crucifixion.

He expected to die in agony
He knew
He could have run away
He chose to stay
That we too
Might in Self come to peace
Defeat suffering
And death
And to know we do
Have eternal life in the
Family of God.

To deny Him
is
Denying one’s own
Self.
He stood as man’s
Eternal salvation
He was one of us
His soul crushed
He too cried " My God
Why Have You forsaken Me "
That we could through awareness
Of God have God near and find
One’s self to
Be in Light
Live in love
And experience God in
All ways
In all opportunity
And in knowing Self
Be unafraid to
Rise again from darkness
In Light
Find joy renewed.

Artist's Description

In the image of God,the creator,
of mind body spirit,
we can create in thought, word, and deed.
Let us live peacefully,
without ego driven need to control,
which creates all conflict, and causes us to
go far from God, and from our potential, and
whom we are.
