Cows and Horses

Tossing down words I’ve heard somewhere
Trying to form them in case someone cares
Sticking them here and there in a random bunch
I want to made sense, but not too much
Trying to find an interior rhyme;
Prying my mind while inferior lines
Are tossed back to reorganize
And I feel like a hack as I realize
I’m hardly trying at all to get these words to fall in place
Can you tell? I’ve decided
to turn on the radio and write down
the first words of the first song to come around
“You were young and I was free”
does it apply to me?
Cause I think he means
this is why something started to be
but actually, I think, it’s why things end
and without much else I tell my friends,
“please tell me what you thought”
I’m writing cause I’m bored and not
Cause I had something worthy of being said.

Artist's Description

This is a Facebook special – written on facebook my freshman year of college because writing something – anything – allowed me to excuse myself from doing homework. I would often write something though I had nothing on my mind to write about, and this particular time I chose to express that actual situation. This is being added so that I can get active on the “Midnight Ramblers” groups, since it seemed like an appropriate piece.
